DOORS AND WINDOWS
Draughts in winter can increase heating costs so close all doors and windows and seal up any draughts around them. Close off rooms that are not in constant use like bedrooms and bathrooms while you are at home. Unused areas drain heat from living areas which increases the heating costs. A rolled up towel under doors or a ‘door snake’ are very useful to block unwanted draughts and folded newspaper can be helpful for cracks around windows.
