GROW YOUR OWN GARDEN
Head to the local library to research food gardens. Libraries are a great place to find books and information about almost everything to do with gardening so start researching how to set up your own food garden at your community library.
Book fairs and op shops are also great places to find books on gardening at great prices.
Contact your local sustainability or garden groups. There are many different community based groups that offer advice or classes in sustainability and setting up your own DIY Garden. Look for special interest groups including horticulture societies and plant enthusiasts in your community for DIY advice.
Join a community garden. If you love gardening but don’t have any space at your house to plant one, a community garden is a fantastic way to grow your own produce in the company of other enthusiastic gardeners. Community gardens create great social spaces to make new friends who share similar interests and also provide a relaxing space to go when you need to escape the house.
